How to join ASAPS

Welcome to the ASAPS online application process.  Whether you were invited by a current member, attended a recent education program or simply wanting to join ASAPS because it will be valuable to your practice, we welcome you to complete the on-line application.

Before returning completed application form to ASAPS Office, the application form must be signed by a Proposer and Seconder who are active members of ASAPS.  Your application must also accompany verification letters from your Proposer and Seconder verifying your application.

ASAPS Membership Benefits
Benefits of membership in ASAPS include:

  • Reduced registration fees for conferences, symposiums workshops and courses.  The annual scientific meeting has a tradition of high-quality international visitors, honest presentation of techniques and results by local members, interesting and varied venues within Australasia and offshore, a back-to-back practice managers’ meeting, and a great social program, which further encourages frank discussion and camaraderie.
    • Access to the premier forum for the ongoing maintenance of knowledge, skills and research in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery in Australasia.
    • Skills in aesthetic surgery can be frequently updated by attendance at specific skills-oriented workshops run by, or in conjunction with, the Society.
    • There are now many established prizes and awards for both trainees and members
    • Access to 6 months Fellowships within Australia and New Zealand

ASAPS Membership Categories
The members of The Society shall be divided into the following classes:

Ordinary Members
Natural persons who wish to be an Ordinary Member shall meet the following criteria:

  • Be nominated and seconded by any two existing members;
  • Be approved by the Board in accordance with Rule 8.3;
  • Be approved by the Members in accordance with Rule 8.6;
  • Be 18 years of age or older;
  • Be a bona fide Plastic Surgeon who resides in Australia or New Zealand or their
  • administered territories;
  • Be engaged full time at a Plastic Surgery practice;
  • Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in the specialty of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; and
  • Pay the subscription fee for membership as determined by the Company from time to time.

Corresponding Members
Natural persons who wish to be a Corresponding Member shall meet the following criteria:

  • Be nominated and seconded by any two existing members;
  • Be approved by the Board in accordance with Rule 8.3;
  • Be approved by the Members in accordance with Rule 8.6;
  • Be a bona fide Plastic Surgeon who does not reside in Australia or New Zealand or their administered territories; and
  • Be engaged full time or part-time at a Plastic Surgery practice.

Associate Members
Natural persons who wish to be an Associate Member shall meet the following criteria:

  • Be nominated and seconded by any two existing members;
  • Be approved by the Board in accordance with Rule 8.3;
  • Be approved by the Members in accordance with Rule 8.6;
  • Be a bona fide trainee Plastic Surgeon who resides in Australia or New Zealand or their administered territories;
  • Be selected for an Advanced Surgical Training Post by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons; and
  • Be appointed to a specialist registrar post in plastic surgery recognised by the Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the College as suitable for training.
